About

Life Trek

Is an interdenominational group of individuals who prioritize sharing God’s gift of freedom. LT was born to assist organized churches and other non-profits in carrying out the Biblical Great Commission. LT is a 501c3 organized to introduce Jesus Christ to all who will listen through volunteer one on one contacts. LT Mentors volunteer to share their faith.

Mission

To introduce people to Jesus Christ and to help them follow Him.

Purpose

To offer the gospel message to all people in comfortable spaces and atmospheres. Emphasis is on all who would like to know more.

Rationale

Most Christians do not feel adequate for sharing their faith. While feeling ill-equipped most would want to, if they knew how to create opportunities. LT offers a format and support for Christians who are called to share their faith.

1,600+ Christians were asked why they don’t share their faith and what prevents them from doing it. The two most frequent responses were fear and the lack of opportunity. Many others said they did not feel equipped, feared hostility, were too busy, didn’t find it easy to bring up faith in conversation, didn’t want to offend, or were too shy. (Jesus Film Project, A Cru Ministry)

Only 3 in 10 unchurched Americans (29%) say a Christian has ever shared with them one-on-one how a person becomes a Christian. Few unchurched people have heard a Christian share about their faith. (Lifeway research)

Sharing faith is increasingly optional to Christians. When was the last time you had a conversation about God? For most people, the unfortunate and surprising answer to that question is not very often. Spiritual conversations are exceedingly rare for most Americans, and even for Christians, who are at best, reluctant to have them. (Barna research)

Most Christians don’t feel adequate for sharing their faith or making disciples. (Baptist News Global)

Two-thirds of American Christians don’t know any methods for telling others about Jesus, poll finds. (The Christian Post)

Someone wrote to the Billy Graham Evangelistic Association to ask……..
Why is it so hard to talk about the most important Person in my life? Why do I hesitate to pass along the best News I have ever heard? “In church audiences where I speak, the number of people who have shared Christ has almost always been below 5 percent.” (Franklin Graham)

Conclusion Most Christians do not feel adequate for sharing their faith. While feeling ill-equipped most want to if they knew how to create opportunities. LT offers a format and support for Christians who are called to share their faith.

Statement of Belief

We believe in the deity of Jesus Christ, in His virgin birth, in His sinless life, in His miracles, in His vicarious and atoning death through His shed blood, in His bodily resurrection, in His ascension to the right hand of the Father, and in His personal return in power and glory. We believe the Bible to be the only inspired, trustworthy and true, without error, Word of God. 2 Tim 3:16-17. We believe there is only one God who eternally exists in three persons, Father, Son and Holy Spirit, Matthew 28

Life Trek Mentors (LTMs)

LTMs have skills and knowledge to share their faith using the LT Guide for introducing others to Jesus Christ. LTMs are an army of individuals who are connected to their own local churches, and in the process introduce contacts and new believers to their church for further spiritual growth. LTMs have their own page on the LT Web Site to share their own story and to invite dialogue with contacts.

Life Trek Guide

Life Trek provides LTMs with a “Guide” for introducing Jesus Christ along with a variety of Bible follow-up materials.
